June 28-30 the small town of Ninilchik, Alaska, located on the Kenai Peninsula, will welcome northwest clinicians Allison Trimble, Kimberly Barber, and Kade Mills for three days of instruction during the Great Alaska Horse Expo. The midnight sun shines brightly—nearly 18 hours a day this time of year— providing the perfect environment for Alaskan horsemen and women to enjoy a trifecta of inspiration as well as the second annual Great Alaska Cowboy Race.

Allison Trimble:

Native Alaskan and cow horse trainer Allison Trimble has a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from Cal Poly, SLO. After her graduation in 1999, Allison started Coastal Equine and has competed in cow horse, reining and cutting events. She has won many titles and championships. With a background as a non-professional who trained her own horses, Allison believes in the ability of the non-pro to have a primary role in their horse’s training.  Willfully Guided Horsemanship is an educational program based on Allison’s training process that helps build a willing and sustainable partnership with the performance horse. Beginning with Horsemanship for Everyone on Friday, Allison will also present on these topics: Intro to Cattle; Body Control—Steering and Stopping; and Improving the Speed Event Horse.

He credits his father Doug Mills and the Training Thru Trust program they both practice for his success. Kade will present on these topics: Roping 1; Developing the Rope Horse; Improving the Rope Horse; and Applied Ground Work.
