WRHA Thanks a Successful Sponsor

The WRHA always wants to thank their sponsors and one that has had tremendous success in the show pen this year is Silver Aspen Ranch. Located in Auburn, WA, Silver Aspen Ranch is a premiere training facility for Arabians, Half-Arabians and Quarter Horses in the Pacific Northwest. For trainer LaRae Powell, horse showing has been a family affair. Not only has she brought home numerous championships, but her children and husband have as well. In August, LaRae’s son, Colby Powell, made a top 10 finish aboard Chics In Demand at the AQHYA World Show in reining. He was one of 105 riders competing for the championship in Oklahoma City just in the reining. Chics In Demand is a bay gelding bred by fellow Washington showman, Dean McCann. This 1999 gelding has massed over $20,000 in NRHA earnings, as well as 168 points in the AQHA reining. Following Colby’s performance, Rodney Powell piloted What Whiz That, a 2005 palomino stallion, to the finals at the AQHA Adequan Select World Show in reining. What Whiz That has AQHA points with three of the Powell’s, including Skylar Powell. The stallion has won over $5,000 in NRHA earnings.
