ABHA Wins Third Place in Family Riding Club Division

Fourteen Blazer Horse owners arrived early to our designated set-up area the morning of the parade. The planning and creativity of our ABHA members was on display. We wore matching black and white clothes with gold vests and black ties. The horses’ manes and tails were braided and hooves covered in gold glitter to match the sparkling saddle pads and beautifully ornate breast collars. With stenciled stars brushed into the hair of each hindquarter, we were ready to line up for judging. Lead by Marco Vranish, carrying the gold and black ABHA flag, we followed along in six pairs with Trish Vranish finishing out the line-up. We also enjoyed the companionship of photographers Jerry Jaeger and Amy Williams. Katharine Cram and Terri Franich handed out ABHA posters to the parade crowd. The judges awarded us third place in the competing family riding club division and $75 in prize money for the ABHA. Judges considered several areas including grooming, horsemanship, uniformity of dress and behavior of the club as a unit. Our Blazers scored well in areas and we have some opportunities for improvement in others as we prepare for next year. We would like to thank all the people who generously donated money, time and talent to help us show our Blazers; we had a great time! To learn more about the Blazer Horse visit: www.abha.com.
