Mark Bolender of Washington State’s Bolender Horse Park (BHP) announced the 2013 scheduling of Bolender’s Mountain Trail Challenge. Six shows are scheduled at BHP: April 14, May 26, June 23, July 21, Aug 25, and September 15. The shows are sanctioned by the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) and open to all horse breeds. BHP contains a 5-Star rated mountain trail course designed by Mark Bolender, a nationally recognized trainer and horseman. Bolender will be the Master of Ceremonies and the host of each show. He is a three-time National Grand Champion in Mountain Trail competition and the author of Bolender’s Guide to Mastering Mountain and Extreme Trail Riding, published by iUniverse, and available through all major booksellers. “Each show is a competitive event that’s open to riders of all skill levels and horses of all breeds,” says Bolender. Shows consist of competitive events where judges award points to the horse and rider who demonstrate the best qualities of boldness and finesse while navigating mountain trail obstacles. Awards and prizes are given at each show, including money classes. High point winners will be announced and awarded on September 15. The September 15 show is also a fundraiser for Rainier Therapeutic Riding (RTR), a non-profit organization focusing on rehabilitating wounded American soldiers using riding therapy.
