Dancing horses, acrobatics on horseback, colorful costumes, stunning stallions, a vivid variety of horses; plus World Champion Riders, world-class instructors and trainers, and a giant trade show....all will be a part of the 15th annual Northwest Horse Fair and Expo 2014, presented by Bison Coach, March 20 through 23, 2014!
Gates open Thursday evening March 20 for an extensive run of equine entertainment, education and enjoyment, at the Linn County Fair & Expo in Albany Oregon. Always a winner for participants and spectators, the Northwest Horse Fair and Expo is a long running Northwest tradition, providing family fun and performances with horses, plus top-notch educational opportunities! This year the horse festival will feature fantastic fan favorites, side by side with new, innovative talent!
The Northwest Horse Fair highlights top-notch clinicians, trainers and instructors, giving educational demonstrations, workshops and clinics. Headlining the star-studded list of presenters will be Chris Cox, providing Chris Cox Horsemanship/Horse Training; plus Eitan Beth-Halachmy featuring Cowboy Dressage; Raye Lochert offering General Training/Horsemanship clinics; Peggy Cummings teaching Connected Riding®; Janet 'Dolly' Hannon conducting Dressage clinics; Scot Hansen and Sandy Siegrist presenting HorseThink; Mitch and JoLinn Hoover offering Competition Strategies for Mountain Trail & All Breed Challenge and a Versatility Ranch & Stock Horse clinic; and Muffy Seaton providing Driving clinics.
When gates open at 5pm March 20, world champion competitors Mitch and JoLinn Hoover will feature a clinic that's perfect for rugged trail and versatility competitors. Exhibiting their years of expertise, the Hoovers will present Competition Strategies for Mountain Trail & the All Breed Challenge. Immediately following the Hoovers' clinic will be Round 1 of the All Breed Challenge. This will be the first opportunity for spectators to root for their favorite contestant, as excitement builds toward the Final Competition, held Sunday morning.
"We're pleased to once again offer the All Breed Challenge, our only competitive event at the Northwest Horse Fair & Expo", said John Cloe, Event Manager and Founder. "We invite riders 12 years and older, and horses from any discipline, to sign up to compete for $3,000 in cash prizes!" Competitors will show off their expertise in a timed course of obstacles and tasks from a variety of disciplines, which could include barrels, jumps, trail, dressage, reining, ranch versatility and more! Diversity in the horse world is also on display at the Northwest Horse Fair through equine demonstrations and exciting equine entertainment! A wide array of horses will demonstrate the strengths of their individual breeds, through Breed Demos and Stallion Reviews. This is a super opportunity for audiences to learn more about horses in general and enjoy the action, performance and variety of equine! Entertainment will include: the majestic dancing horses of the BlackPearl Friesian Dance Troupe; amazing gymnastics with horses, presented by the Ecco Ridge Vaulters; and fast and furious precision drill team entertainment, by the Mane Attraction Rodeo Performance Team.
Two buildings will house 70,000 square feet of trade show space, for the delight and convenience of shoppers! Just a few of the items offered will include trailers, feed, tack, hats, clothing, gifts, boots, horse supplies, home décor and much more! It's the perfect time to shop and stock up for 2014!
Wayne Williams of the Speaking of Horses radio and Online TV, will be on hand at the expo, to visit with Northwest Horse Fair celebrities and attendees.
Applications are now being accepted for participants in the Northwest Horse Fair and Expo.
