The fourth annual ArabHorse.com New Year's Arabian Horse Farm Tour opens on Wednesday, December 29th and extends through Sunday, January 2, 2010. The Arabian Horse Network, better known by its web name, ArabHorse.com, offers the public an invitation to open barns and presentations that serve as prelude to Scottsdale's world renowned Arizona Arabian Horse Association Arabian Show in February.
Scottsdale is home to many of the Arabian industry's most
prestigious farms and training facilities. Horse buyers travel from the corners of the globe to purchase horses here. Area residents and out-of-town visitors alike are invited to enjoy this unique facet of Scottsdale living during the long Holiday weekend. Each day features special open farm events and the public is welcome to attend one or every event. Participating farms enjoy a well deserved reputation for throwing great parties and are ready to share their passion for the Arabian horse with their guests.
"Scottsdale is recognized as the World Capital of the Arabian horse," says Scott Bailey, ArabHorse.com founder, "and traditionally, some farms in Scottsdale have hosted New Year's parties or open barns. The Tour has gained in popularity over the past three years with people traveling to the Valley to purchase good show horses for the coming season. This year we are expanding activities and incorporating community service to benefit the care and feeding of abandoned horses of all breeds. All Tour events are open to the public and we encourage people to join the fun and learn more about the Arabian horse."
Scottsdale rightly holds claim to the title of Arabian capital of the world as demonstrated by statistics from online broadcasts at two Tour farm events last year. Equine Image and Midwest Training Centre webcast their farm presentation parties live as some 3,800 viewers in 25 different countries logged on to enjoy the festivities from these two farms.
Those interested in Arabian horses have an array of opportunities to visit farms, see and touch the beautiful horses and get acquainted with many of Scottsdale's most prominent Arabian horse people. "This is great entertainment for visiting friends and family," says Bailey. "The Tour farms stage open barns with refreshments or perhaps a wine tasting along with informal showing of horses and a lot of fun and camaraderie. People are welcome to attend one or all Tour events and the presentations are different at each farm. Arabians are very people oriented horses, they love attention and mood is festive at every stop."
The Tour is scheduled with clusters of nearby farms staging events on the same day from late morning through evening. Each farm presentation lasts about two hours. This allows guests to visit several farms during a Tour day with only minimal driving.
