April Makes a Friend

I’m sitting at my desk wondering how in the world I’m going to get everything done before the trade show this weekend. April and I are embarking on a new adventure to Ridgefield, WA. I made a promise to myself that my horse would be coming with me on more of my horse activities this year. I’m not sure what I’ve gotten us into, as it’s enough work getting ready for the Northwest Horse Source booth, let alone a horse to get ready.

Many thanks to all my friends on facebook who made suggestions on how to get a gray tail clean for a show. Seems the most common answer was oxy clean. I’ll let you know how it turns out as we get some photos done at the expo. April loves to get dirty and makes a pillow of poop in her stall every night so it will be interesting to see if I can keep her clean during the show. Most of our activities include trail riding and ranch sorting as of late so a little green spot never hurts much, but getting out in front of hundreds of people is another story.

On one of our adventures over the winter at Coastal Equine in Ferndale, April made a new friend. Kiki is a Miniature Horse that lives on their farm. She wonders around in the barnyard greeting other horses and looking for snacks. April was completely enamored with her. I think she found a new friend. Makes me stop and realize that life is about making friends, not being perfect.
