Live yeast culture may aid in geriatric horse nutrition

Nutrition is a key component in keeping older horses healthy. Adult horses require an easily digested amount of protein and energy and adequate levels of vitamins and minerals.

One natural feed source that many adult equine owners have added to their horses’ diet formulations is a live yeast culture, such as Yea-Sacc®1026  from Alltech.  Yea-Sacc1026 has been shown to support high fiber, protein and mineral digestion for the geriatric horse.

Tests at Kentucky Equine Research have shown that the addition of yeast culture in the diets of mature horses increases true phosphorus digestion by 20 percent.  Older horses can benefit directly from the addition of a live yeast culture due to increased fiber digestion and phosphorus absorption from the large intestine, which commonly deteriorates and loses some absorptive capacity due to aging.

For more information on Yea-Sacc1026 or Alltech, please visit the Web sites at www.yea-sacc1026.com or www.alltech.com.

Innovative Land Clearing that Creates the Perfect Horse Pastures and Trails

Pasture clearing is more efficient than ever with Boss Construction Inc.’s Iron Wolf Slasher.  This machine’s 10 foot wide mouth and 212 carbide teeth mulches every rock, tree, stump and piece of brush it encounters, including frozen soil up to 8 inches deep. The Slasher eats all the material in its path and mulches the debris back into the earth making the final preparation of your pasture an easier process.

This innovative land clearing method is environmentally friendly, eliminating the need for debris burning, is safer than conventional methods and leaves behind the perfect soil consistency for horse pastures and trails
