Outback’s Popular Backpackable Jackets Receive Spring Makeover

Spring weather can be more than a little bit unpredictable. Whether you are enjoying a trail ride in the fresh air or taking time for a ringside seat at events from dressage to eventing and reining to rodeo, sudden showers and brisk breezes are a fact of life. That’s why Outback Trading Company developed its line of backpackable jackets, reinvented in a special ladies version for spring 2005.

Created from ripstop nylon fabric, these versatile jackets cheat the wind, stop the rain, and roll up into their own built-in backpacks when the job is done! Completely made over for this spring, the Outback Ladies Backpackable Jacket is designed with a drawstring waist and a hood, while a contoured bottom gives the piece a feminine flair. Offered in spring’s hottest colors with contrast piping, the jackets also provide snap-open rear gussets and contrasting Outback ponies embroidery.

For more information on Outback Trading Company, Ltd., their products and where to find a local retailer, visit the company online at www.outbacktrading.com or call 610-932-5141, ext. 300.

Lowland Trail Guide for Methow Valley
The Methow Valley in Washington State is a great place for horseback riding. With its dry climate, outstanding views and abundance of public lands there are many trails to choose from. Most of the trails on National Forest lands accessible from the Methow Valley are well documented in guide books, maps or through the National Forest. Unfortunately many of those trails do not open for horseback riding until July or even August each year due to snow and fallen trees.
The Methow Valley Chapter of the Backcountry Horseman in cooperation with the Methow Valley Sport Trails Association has created a guidebook to lowland trails in the Methow Valley; trails on public land that open earlier and stay open longer due to their lower elevation.
This 41-page guide describes 13 scenic rides in the Methow Valley. Each ride has a map showing where to park, locations of water for horses and trail intersections. The cost is $4.65 and is available at various merchants in the Methow Valley or directly through the Methow Valley Sport Trails Association, PO Box 147, Winthrop WA 98862 – (509) 996-3287 www.mvsta.com.
