MGM Home Entertainment’s Virginia’s Run Available on DVD March 1st

A teenage girl learns important life lessons in the inspiring tale of love and courage of Virginia’s Run, trotting onto DVD and VHS March 1st from MGM Home Entertainment.  Shot on the picturesque shores of Nova Scotia, this “well-made, family-friendly story” (Variety) stars Gabriel Byrne (Vanity Fair), Joanne Whalley (Shattered) and Lindze Letherman (Bicentennial Man).  Virginia’s Run is a coming-of-age adventure about a girl, a horse and the transformative power of a dream that combines heartwarming sentiment and horse-racing action.

Virginia’s Run will be available for the suggested retail price of $19.98 on DVD and $14.95 on VHS.

When 13-year-old Virginia’s (Letherman) mother dies in a riding accident, her father (Byrne) sells the horse and vows never to let his two daughters ride. Defying him, Virginia nurses the horse’s new colt, Stormy, and secretly trains with him at night. But when Stormy is sold, Virginia’s sister and a sympathetic trainer (Whalley) must help convince her father that a girl needs free rein to grow.

Guidelines Addressing Use Of Compounded Medications Released By The Aaep

The Drug Compounding Task Force of the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) has released guidelines regarding the responsible use of compounded medications by veterinarians. Issues addressed in the guidelines include the negative effects on efficacy that can result from using products not held to the government’s standards for compounding as well as the appropriate use of bulk drugs in the
preparation of compounded medications.  To view a copy of the guidelines, visit www.aaep.org and select "Drug Compounding" under the "Resources" heading on the home page.

The AAEP is one of the first organizations to directly address the mounting ethical dilemmas and consequences related to illegal compounding. While drug compounding serves a very legitimate and important purpose in animal health, manufacturers must abide by federal regulations in order to create a
high-quality, safe product and encourage a fair marketplace for animalhealth products.
