The Gaston Mercier Saddle Comes to North America

Hi-Tack is proud to bring you the most advanced endurance and trail saddle in the world, from Gaston Mercier. Now available in the United States and Canada.

Today, the Gaston Mercier saddle is used by 2 out of the 3 current European endurance champions, and is quickly becoming the preferred choice of mainstream riders for trail riding, limited distance riding, flat work, and dressage.

At Hi-Tack, the goal is to offer you a complete custom saddle designed to fit your horse’s form and body style, your size and shape, and your riding needs.

The Gaston Mercier saddle is designed and built around three key principles:

• Saddle Position – Fits further back on the horse’s spine, resulting in freer, stronger movement in each stride.

• Customized Horse and Rider Fit – Optimizes comfort and closeness between horse and rider for better communication and more comfortable cinching.

• Light Weight – Reduced fatigue and better performance with saddle weights beginning at just 8 pounds.

A custom-fit carbon tree, premium leathers treated for outdoor use and available in unique colors, patented pads and cinches, and lightweight, quick-drying materials combine to make our saddles the most durable, comfortable, and unique saddle available in the world today.

A FLY MASK THAT BOTH PROTECTS AND STAYS PUT!

Farnam Introduces SuperMask® II -- with or without ears

When fly season swoops in, horse owners know it's time to protect their animals from the invading menace. They also want insect protection that stays put and won't end up lost in the pasture.

In a recent survey, 88 percent of horse owners said they seek a more effective closure to keep horses from rubbing or pulling off masks. Farnam's new SuperMask II with double-latch closure now keeps masks twice as secure, and stays on even during horseplay.

The mask is constructed of a 2000 denier "Rip-Block"(tm) material that is durable for stabled or pastured horses.  It features a "no vision obstruction" design that allows horses to see clearly and protects eyes from flying insect irritation and disease as well as airborne dust, dirt and debris.  The mask fits the horse's head snugly, so flies can't sneak under the mask.  In addition, the mask offers UV protection and helps speed healing after eye injury.

For information on Farnam fly masks or other horse products, in the United States call toll free at (800) 234-2269, direct at (602) 285-1660 or go to farnamhorse.com on the Internet.  Founded in 1946, Farnam Companies, Inc., is a privately held company and a leader in the animal health products industry.

Packable, Waterproof Garments a Must for Trail Enthusiasts

Outback Trading Company Offers Weather Protection in an Easy-to-Carry Pouch

You never know what the weather will bring. On a long pleasure ride or in a tough endurance competition, sudden showers and brisk breezes can end the fun quickly if you’re not prepared. That’s why Outback Trading Company, makers of the original Outback Oilskin Duster, created packable dusters and parkas. These unique garments fold easily into their own pouches and unfold to provide waterproof protection in any weather.

“The idea with this line of outerwear is to provide light weight, portable garments for riders who face either tough weather, or just the occasional light drizzle,” said Wilson King, president of Outback Trading Company. “Not only do these coats fit the bill, but they look really great too. You’d never know they could pack down so small!”

Perfect for spring and summer, the Nylon Backpackable Parka and Backpackable Duster are made from ripstop nylon with a waterproof finish. Both roll into their own built-in backpacks for easy trail toting. Outback finishes the waterproof ensemble with the Nylon Packable Rainpant, which can be zipped into its own pocket.

The Oilskin Backpackable Parka and Duster also stow into their own self-contained backpacks, easily carried over any trail. Both coats are made from a lighter, four ounce oilskin, which makes them easy to tote while still offering waterproof protection. The material looks luxurious and drapes beautifully. Each garment has a lockable drawstring waist, two-way zippers protected by snapover storm plackets, zippered pockets, a roll-up hood in the collar, and adjustable cuffs. The duster has a center back gusset while the shorter parka has snap open side vents.

“These garments really are essential gear for riders in any environment,” said King. “They provide an easy way to stay comfortable and dry so you’ll enjoy your ride even more.”

For more information on Outback Trading Company, Ltd., their products and where to find a local retailer, visit the company online at www.outbacktrading.com or call 610-932-5141 ext. 300.
