Nisqually Back Country Horsemen of Washington's 2nd Annual Trail Challenge

During the first Annual Trail Challenge in 2007, sponsored by the Nisqually Chapter of BCHW, competitors were judged as they negotiated a 3-mile course with 17 judges at numerous sites, including water crossings, log hurdles, backing downhill, and more.  Advanced riders had to side-pass over criss-crossed logs, trot into water, and cross a belly-high stream to ring a bell.  The most common comments heard were “I had a blast!” and “I know just what to train on for next year!”

This year the Trail Challenge will be held at Happs – 1432 Hwy 12, Ethel WA.  This property allows us even more latitude for obstacles, so look forward to more varying terrain and natural challenges.

Rubber Pavers are highly recommended for any application in which safety and comfort are essential. The integrity of the products is unaffected by ice, water and extreme temperatures. Not only do rubber pavers and tiles give a high-end appearance at affordable prices, but they offer quicker cleanup and reduce the chance of injury.

A Family in for the Ride of Their Lives!

Feel like a winner. Think like a winner. Words to live by for a former rodeo champion and his daughter in “Every Second Counts,” a Hallmark Channel Original Movie premiering Saturday, July 12 (9/8c). Emmy® nominee Stephen Collins ("7th Heaven”), award-winning actress Barbara Williams (“Quarterlife”) and newcomer Magda Apanowicz (“Kyle XY”) tell the story of one family’s heartbreak and triumph in an inspired tale about dreams, responsibilities and learning to live without regrets.

Joe Preston (Collins) is as proud as any father can be watching his daughter, Brooke (Apanowicz), compete in the heart-pounding rodeo sport of penning. Though only 17, Brooke shows all the signs of becoming a world-class champion.  But where Joe envisions a future of competition and prize winnings for his daughter, Brooke has dreams of earning a college scholarship and studying to become a veterinarian, an endeavor that is supported by her mother, Helen (Williams).

A Fusion of Technologies: The SMB-3 from Professional's Choice
The new SMB-3 boot is a fusion of technologies between the best selling SMBII® and the innovative SMB Elite™.

“Our goal was to create a new product to meet the demands from customers, providing a greater choice when selecting protective boots,” said Dal Scott, owner of Professional's Choice.  The SMB-3 is the third model in the Sports Medicine Boot line by Professional's Choice, rounding out the line and offering something for every horse and rider. This median-priced boot is very easy to put on and provides the same superb protection and support as its predecessors.

NWHS's Karen Pickering says, "I found the Professional's Choice boots to be everything they've claimed. They're well made, lightweight and very attractive. They've shortened the straps so putting them on or taking them off is easier than ever."
