I talk about Google quite often, but for good reason - Google continues to produce tools that benefit web managers like you and me. Below I’ve summarized a few of their recent offerings. Each one of these can significantly impact the way you manage your website … and best of all they are free. And as usual Google keeps these tools simple and powerful.
Google Analytics tells you everything you want to know about how your visitors found you and how they interact with your site. You'll be able to focus your marketing resources on campaigns and initiatives that deliver ROI (Return on Investment), and improve your site to convert more visitors. http://www.google.com/analytics
Google Base is a place where you can add all types of information that Google hosts and makes searchable online. Based on the relevance of your items, they may also be included in the main Google search index and other Google products such as Froogle and Google Local. http://www.google.com/base
Google Sitemaps is an easy way for you to help improve your coverage in the Google index. It's a collaborative crawling system that enables you to communicate directly with Google to keep Google informed of all your web pages, and when you make changes to these pages. http://www.google.com/webmasters
Be sure to keep tabs on what Google is doing as they will likely continue to release tools that help people interact with the Internet in a more effective way. Visit http://www.google.com/intl/en/contact/newsletter.html to sign up for their newsletter.
