Google Tools You Need!
I’ve talked about Google before, here are a few tools - if you haven’t tried these you’re missing out!
- Picasa – digital photo manager (www.picasa.com)
If you have ever tried to manage digital photos on your camera, you know what a hassle it can be. All camera software is different, there are strange file names, and cropping a picture to email to grandma can be downright confusing.
Picasa is everything you need to enjoy your digital photos in a single software product:
- Auto-transfer photos from your digital camera
- Organize and find pictures in seconds
- Edit, print, and email photos with ease
- Create slideshows, order prints and more!
- Ever spend way too long trying to find an email or a document on your computer? Google Desktop Search (http://desktop.google.com) is a new beta product that changes everything. In Google’s words, “Google Desktop Search is how our brains would work if we had photographic memories. It's a desktop search application that provides full text search over your email, computer files, chats, and the web pages you've viewed. By making your computer searchable, Google Desktop Search puts your information easily within your reach and frees you from having to manually organize your files, emails, and bookmarks.” It is definitely worth trying out.
- If you need to advertise your website, Google AdWords is a slick tool that can get your website noticed quickly. With Google AdWords you create your own ads, choose keywords to match your ads to your audience and you pay only when someone clicks on your ad. Visit http://adwords.google.com to find out more.
Next month we will discuss the tools for managing the colors you choose for your website. There is a difference between web safe and web smart colors. And some colors simply don’t belong on a website.
