In order to learn life’s lessons we often go through hard times and transition. It has become apparent that the one constant in my life is change! No matter how much I would like to control my circumstances and keep things constant, outside forces are often on a different path. I believe success comes when we intersect with those forces in a positive way. Our lives cross the paths of others, some only for a brief moment in time, and how we interact with those lives can significantly impact our decisions and direction. More than ever I desire these intersections to be positive connections. I am learning the importance of extending freedom to each person I work with to discover their passion and place in the world.
My own passion and calling is the horse industry. I desire to inspire others to love these majestic, God given creatures as much as I do. It is truly an honor and privilege to befriend a horse. For me, caring for them is every bit as important as riding them. It is also an honor and privilege to work with a team. I truly hope that I can encourage others as they work in this industry.
Many times the tides of change are bittersweet. We’re sad to lose Sharon Aller as editor. She has worked with the magazine for over three years and has established some wonderful relationships for us. She now moves forward in her passion for mentoring and motivating young people. She has exciting opportunities before her and we wish her the very best. Kirsty Lee now joins our team as editor. Kirsty has worked in the background of the magazine the last two years and brings with her a desire to move us forward with fresh ideas and creativity. Her husband, Mark, has been a tremendous asset as art director and we feel fortunate to be working with this talented couple.
This month our focus is on “Educational Opportunities.” We take you on a guided tour of some of the Northwest’s finest equine expos and trade shows. In addition, we’ve added a tagline to our publication that debuted for the first time last month. Your All Breed, All Discipline, Educational Resource will be appearing on the cover of our magazine and website. We look forward to being the best resource in the Northwest for today’s horseman.
I would encourage you to consider the possibilities of allowing us to promote your business or horses for you. We are distributing over 22,000 copies of this magazine per month with over 60,000 readers. Our online presence is growing. The new Equine Marketplace has expanded the services that we offer our advertisers and readers. We have advertising opportunities to fit EVERY budget. We’ve worked very hard to develop a quality publication that is still one of the least expensive advertising venues in the Northwest. Give us a call to see what we can do for you.
I look forward to seeing you at the upcoming tradeshows and equine expos this fall. Have a great October and remember to ride!
