I’ve always felt like the New Year provides an opportunity to start over, set new goals and have a clean slate going into another year. Toward the end of the year, with winter close at hand, I find myself gravitating toward an overstuffed chair in front of the fireplace. That’s where I love to reflect on the journey of the past year. It helps me to see how far I’ve come and gives me a new perspective on where I’m going. 2003 has been a tremendous growth year for me. Going from a two-person home office to a four-person offsite location has certainly presented challenges. I’m kind of a lone wolf type of person and enjoy working in a quiet setting free of clutter and confusion. With the kind of growth we have had this year in the office setting, needless to say, clutter and confusion have been an ever present reality. I’m learning to value the time and energy it takes to build a solid team.
Learning to let go and trust others has been a milestone for me. I haven’t arrived, but I can feel myself relaxing a bit and getting used to the idea. I really have an awesome team and we look forward to being able to serve our readers and advertisers at a whole new level.
