Stabling Plans for 2008/2009 Wellington Shows Announced

August 2008

Printer friendly page

WELLINGTON, Aug. 27--Several different plans for stabling horses at Palm Beach International Equestrian Center for the 2008/2009 season were announced Wednesday by Equestrian Sport Productions, LLC, the management company of the Wellington show grounds.

The stabling plans include a package of 12 weeks for the 2009 Winter Equestrian Festival from Jan. 5 to March 30 for $3,000 per stall that amounts to $250 per week at the North (WEF) Grounds, to a newly created package that extends to 20 weeks from Dec. 1, 2008 to April 20, 2009, also at the North Grounds for $4,500 per stall or $225 per week. A previous announcement of the extended package, designed to meet the request of numerous exhibitors who said they planned to arrive earlier than previous years and extend their competition schedule beyond WEF, had led to some confusion as the WEF stabling program was not included.

Significant savings can be achieved by stabling at the South Grounds, formerly Littlewood.

Due to the substantial number of requests for stabling received so far, ESP recommends ordering stalls as soon as possible.

The different plans along with order forms are being mailed to exhibitors or will be available on the ESP Internet site www.equestriansport.com

The six stabling packages are:

Plan A--Premier Tent Boarding from Dec. 1, 2008, to April 20, 2009 at $4,500 per stall (equates to $225 per week) located on the North (WEF) Grounds. This includes the Holiday, WEF and Spring Circuits over 20 weeks.

Plan B--Premier Tent Boarding from Jan. 5 to March 30, 2009 at $3,000 per stall (equates to $250 per week) located on the North (WEF) Grounds. This includes the 12 Weeks of WEF. Additional weeks may be added at $325 per week.

Plan C--Premier Tent Boarding from Jan. 4 to April 20, 2009 at $3,800 per stall (equates to $253 per week) located on the North (WEF) Grounds. This includes 12 weeks of WEF and three "AA" Spring shows following WEF.

Plan D--Six Month Pole Tent Boarding from Oct. 15, 2008 to April 20, 2009 at $3,000 per stall (equates to $111 per week) located on the South Grounds (formerly Littlewood). Limited number of paddocks and rings, pricing available upon request. The period is 27 weeks and covers the Fall, Holiday, WEF and Spring Circuits.

Plan E--WEF Pole Tent Boading Plan from Jan. 5 to March 30, 2009 at $2,100 per stall (equates to $175 per week) located on the South Grounds (formerly Littlewood). Limited number of paddocks and rings, pricing available upon request. This plan includes the 12 weeks of WEF.

Plan P--Permanent Stalls* from Dec. 1, 2008 to March 30, 2009 at $6,500 per stall located on the North (WEF) Grounds.
* Permanent Stalls will be assigned in priority to occupants in 2008 WEF and a waiting list established on a first come, first served basis.

The Wellington winter season kicks off with the inaugural Palm Beach Steeplechase on Saturday, November 29, 2008 at the PBIEC Stadium (formerly Palm Beach Polo Grounds). An "A" rated show will also be offered the same week at PBIEC show grounds, hosted by South Florida Hunter Jumper Association.

The first "AA" rated show of the season, Holiday & Horses, is scheduled for Dec. 3-7. This show features a CSI 3* World Cup qualifying event, a Six Bar, Puissance and Gamblers Choice jumping contests and holiday-themed family entertainment from a tree lighting ceremony to ice skating.

The 2009 WEF includes more than $5 million in prize money for hunters and jumpers and the richest dressage competition in the world. Other highlights include a Jumper Derby on grass at the PBIEC Stadium, an International Hunter Derby, the second year of the George H. Morris Excellence in Equitation, eight planned evening competitions including the universally popular Nations Cup and newly created "Battle of the Sexes" and the introduction of an Adult Equitation League.
